Sciencescape Closing $3M Round

Toronto, ON, January 21, 2014 – Sciencescape is pleased to announce the closing of $2.5M of its $3M oversubscribed round from a participation of investors led by iGan Partners and including BDC Venture Capital and other angel investors.

Sciencescape graduated from Extreme Startups in June and since then has completed a successful private beta release and is in the process of fully launching the platform to researchers in academia, government and industry. The financing will be used for developing the platform further, and sales and marketing initiatives.

Sciencescape is a disruptive platform that is changing the way scientific research is discovered and shared. With 23 million historical papers and over 4000 being published each day, the current medical and scientific research system is incredibly outdated. Sciencescape has organized all historical and recent papers in to build the “plumbing” of research through the web and mobile. Its advanced machine learning and NLP algorithms are constructing a vast research knowledge graph composed of people, groups, places as well as natural entities, processes and concepts to deliver personalized, accurate streams of peer reviewed research to scientists in real time, to solve the problem of publication overload researchers face today. Sciencescape’s mission is to organize and delivery all of the world’s research.
